Wine Paris 2026 has come to an end. A distinction remains.
Within the framework of the Tre Bicchieri World Tour and the Gambero Rosso International circuit, the masterclass “Rare Wines – Beyond the Ordinary” gathered eleven Italian rare wines selected for limited production and defined stylistic identity.
Among them was Eleuteria Special Edition in Amphora 2021, included in the Rare Wines selection curated by Gambero Rosso at Wine Paris.
Eleuteria rare wines Gambero Rosso was not a narrative construction, but the result of a precise selection.
Eleven wines.
Limited production.
Uncompromising choices.
“Beyond the Ordinary” did not refer to the exceptional in a spectacular sense. It pointed instead to what refuses to merge with the norm. Jorge Luis Borges wrote that identity is affirmed not through quantity, but through difference. In that room, the extraordinary did not appear as what stood out the most, but as what did not coincide with the standard.
Going beyond the ordinary meant not adhering. Remaining outside what repeats itself.
In this context, the “beyond the ordinary” of Eleuteria Special Edition was fidelity to a line. Not smoothing. Not expanding. Not conforming. Remaining distinct. Even when this meant cultivating Nerello Mascalese in the heroic vineyards of the Sila mountains, accepting altitude and light not as conditions to be mitigated, but as the very measure of the wine.
Wine Paris closed with the Italian excellences of the Grand Tasting and, alongside them, a more intimate room. Eleven wines. No excess. The “beyond” was not a climax, but a deliberate act of subtraction.
And it is within that subtraction that we recognize our line.
